Gary Hiland, the owner and operator of Headlines Barber Shop on South Fifth Street in downtown DeKalb, smiles as he chats with Sam Berkes while cutting his hair on a recent week day in DeKalb. Hiland's father Bob started a barber shop in 1952 and since then, Bob, Gary, or both Hilands have been enjoying their jobs keeping the hair of DeKalb residents trimmed. "I know a lot of people don't like going to work," said Hiland. "I enjoy going to work."
